The state of Ohio ranks 11th in the nation for the number of foreclosures as of last month.
According to RealtyTrac Inc., the number of homes that have received the first step in the foreclosure process in August has jumped 33 percent. This is the largest gain from month-to-month in nearly four years.
In the month of August, Ohio had the 11th highest foreclosure rate in the nation with 518 homes receiving some type of foreclosure-related notice. Across the U.S., there was a 7 percent increase from the month of July.
