The number of foreclosures in Ohio have risen in the month of June, but are still lower than the were at this time last year.

The number of foreclosures that were filed in Ohio in the month of June are up 3.5 percent from May. This means that there were 8,671 filings in June which brings the total number of filings in Ohio for the first six months of the year to 44,419.

This number is 25 percent fewer than it was at this time last year. Ohio’s foreclosure numbers are following the national trend for the first half of the year. The national rate has dropped 29 percent since the second half of 2010.
