Borders Group Inc. has announced that they will be closing two stores in Northeast Ohio as part of their bankruptcy reorganization and because of this, nearly 53 jobs will be cut.

The director of economic developing is asking that Border’s to not close the store in Mentor, which employees nearly 33 people. Borders is the second largest bookseller, besides Barnes & Nobles, Inc. and they announced that they will be filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company said that they hope to reorganize their debts to become a stronger company, The store in Mentor is the seventh largest retail sales in Ohio. A New York judge has said that nearly 200 of its 642 stores will be closed in the plan.
